Nine day novena begins in preparation for the feast of Relic of Saint Anthony

Mangauru, Feb. 6, 2017: Rev Fr Walter D’Mello, the Associate Judicial Vicar of the Diocese of Mangalore inaugurated the nine days novena in preparation for the feast of Relic of Saint Anthony by hoisting the flag of Saint Anthony on 6-2-2017 at 5.45 pm near Saint Atnhony’s Shrine at Milagres Church Mangaluru. This was followed by the  Holy Mass. The Holy Mass was offered for the special intention of Youth. During the homily Fr D’Mello spoke on the talents God has given to the youth and he asked them to make use of them in serving God, people and the Church to which they belong to. He said if these talents are not put to good use they go waste. At the end of the Holy Mass Fr Peter Gonsalves Asst Director of Ashram  conducted the novena in honour of Saint Anthony during which intentions of the people for various needs were placed before the great intercessor.  Earlier in the evening the decorated statue of Saint Anthony was brought to Milagres from St Anthony’s Ashram Jeppu via Kankanady and Falnir.  Many vehicles of devotees participated in the procession.


Fr Valerian D’souza, the Parish Priest of Milagres Church,  Fr Onil D’Souza, the director of Institutes, Fr Francis D’Souza, administrator of the Institutes and hundreds of people participated in the first day of the novena.
